The possibility of a new F1 driver pairing at Ferrari from 2027
The last F1 Las Vegas GP confirmed some certainties. Max Verstappen remains a racing animal, McLaren is not unbeatable, and Ferrari is going through a deep crisis. A situation that is putting drivers like Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in real difficulty for 2027.
It is Leclerc, in particular, who is fueling increasingly persistent rumors about his future. He could leave Ferrari in 2027 after seven years in Italy without ever winning more than a few races. In a podcast by the Italian journalist Giorgio Terruzzi, widely followed in Italy, the rumor was semi-confirmed. The Monegasque driver is close to joining Aston Martin in 2027.

A team that, for several good reasons, could see significant improvements on the grid starting next year. Here is our analisys
Charles Leclerc joins F1 Aston Martin in 2027?
Leclerc would have already initiated contacts with the Silverstone-based team, which will benefit from the aerodynamic genius of Adrian Newey next year. Lawrence Stroll is also reportedly planning further investments to make Aston Martin one of the most competitive teams in the upcoming F1 championships. A challenge that will start in 2026.
Leclerc, a big fan of Maranello but with few hopes of winning with Ferrari, would have left himself one last chance to decide his future. He wants to see the 2026 car under the new regulations to determine whether it’s worth changing teams the following year or staying.

Lewis Hamilton, a nightmare 2025 and a 2026 with little hope.
This window should push Ferrari’s management to do everything possible to provide both the young Monegasque and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton with a competitive team. On the other hand, the Englishman also seems close to leaving Ferrari. His contract, valid until the end of 2026, will force him to decide whether to retire from F1.
From post-Las Vegas GP statements, the Briton’s mood appears to be really low. He admitted he can’t wait for 2025 to end quickly, to rest without thinking about 2026, a year in which he might finally say goodbye to Formula 1, hoping to still see Ferrari winning.

Oliver Bearman, the most likely candidate for 2027 Ferrari
But what would happen if the most feared—and at the same time, most likely—scenario came true? In 2027, Ferrari would need to find a new driver pairing for the Rossa, and one of the most accredited names to land in Maranello would be Olly Bearman.
The young Englishman has been impressing with his recent performances at Haas, scoring the same points as Oscar Piastri in McLaren over the last four races. A long-term prospect, with the desire to win that Ferrari could need to continue the journey toward a possible future world championship.
