One of the most iconic cars in automotive history is undoubtedly the Porsche 911 Turbo. Over the years, this model has evolved with sophisticated technologies and meticulous attention to detail. It’s a car that blends refined elegance with performance—at least in its more understated versions. The 911 is just as suitable for a grocery run as it is for a thrilling day at the track. However, some variants are clearly geared more toward one end of that spectrum. And today, we’re talking about one of those in particular: the new Porsche 911 Turbo S. A beast that, from the outside, may seem relatively calm—until you open the rear engine bay, where a true explosion of power lies hidden.

The new Porsche 911 Turbo S has a legacy to uphold. Its predecessor was already regarded as the benchmark for sports cars, perfectly balancing performance, long-distance comfort, exclusivity, and everyday usability. Now, the latest 911 Turbo S raises the bar even higher. Available in both Coupé and Cabriolet versions, this new generation arrives with significantly enhanced performance, a more muscular design, refined aerodynamics, an optimized chassis, and an extensive range of optional equipment for personalization.

The newly developed high-performance T-Hybrid powertrain delivers a total system output of 701 hp (523 kW), marking a 61-hp increase over the previous model. This makes the new 911 Turbo S the most powerful production 911 ever built. The powertrain generates a maximum torque of 590 lb-ft, available across a remarkably wide range from 2,300 to 6,000 rpm. Peak horsepower is sustained across a broad powerband, from 6,500 to 7,000 rpm.

The T-Hybrid technology

The T-Hybrid technology, first introduced in the current 911 Carrera GTS, has been further refined for the 911 Turbo S. While the GTS features a single electric exhaust gas turbocharger (eTurbo) as part of its T-Hybrid system, the new 911 Turbo S uses two eTurbos. These turbines and compressors have been specifically engineered to meet the demands of this flagship model. The dual eTurbos not only deliver a significant boost in power but also enhance throttle response.

The compact 1.9-kWh high-voltage battery is the same energy storage unit used in the 911 Carrera GTS. Power is transmitted via an eight-speed PDK transmission with an integrated electric motor to the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel-drive system. The Turbo S Coupe accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds—0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor—and reaches 124 mph in 8.4 seconds, an improvement of 0.5 seconds. The new 911 Turbo S has a top track speed of 200 mph.

The interior also showcases numerous Turbonite accents, including on the door panels, steering wheel, dashboard, and center console surrounds. This unique finish extends to the instrument cluster and the Sport Chrono stopwatch, complemented by contrast stitching in Turbonite. The seat belts and several center console buttons are also finished in this signature hue. Carbon fiber trim with integrated Neodyme accents adds a sporty and upscale feel, while the perforated black Race-Tex headliner enhances the cabin’s premium atmosphere.
