Roscoe Hamilton’s dog has died. He was 12
Farewell to Roscoe Lewis Hamilton Loyal Four-Legged Friend
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton had already announced on social media last Friday that his friend dog Roscoe was in critical condition. The bulldog had suffered a respiratory crisis, a problem fairly common in Bulldogs due to their flat noses.
The trip to the hospital was immediate, but the clinical picture was already critical, as during the rescue operations the little four-legged friend’s heart had stopped, leaving him in a coma. From that moment, thousands of messages of support arrived from fans, drivers, and teams around the world, wishing him a speedy recovery.

The situation remained serious but stable until today, when the sad announcement arrived: Roscoe did not make it.
Hamilton’s words full of grief, expressed the pain of his loss
*”After four days on life support, fighting with every bit of strength he had, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe. He never stopped fighting, right until the very end. I feel so grateful and honoured to have shared my life with such a beautiful soul, an angel and true friend. Bringing Roscoe into my life was the best decision I ever made, and I will forever cherish the memories we created together. Although I lost Coco, I had never faced putting a dog to sleep before, though I know my mum and many close friends have. It is one of the most painful experiences, and I feel a deep connection to everyone who has gone through the loss of a beloved pet. Although it was so hard, having him was one of the most beautiful parts of life: to love so deeply and to be loved in return.
Thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown Roscoe over the years. It has been so special to witness and feel.
He died on Sunday evening, 28th September, in my arms.”
Roscoe and Coco, Two Eternal Companions

Roscoe had turned 12, quite an advanced age for a dog, although he had been raised in the best possible way, receiving all the care his owner could provide. Lewis Hamilton stayed by his side until the very last moment, even giving up important commitments. He was scheduled to participate in Pirelli tests with Ferrari at Mugello and attend a fashion show in Milan. In the end, he had to make the hardest decision of all, euthanasia, because, despite all the care and attention, there was nothing more that could be done.
Hamilton had adopted Roscoe and Coco in 2013: two inseparable Pitbulls. Sadly, Coco had passed away prematurely in 2020 due to heart problems, followed five years later by his little brother Roscoe. Roscoe and Coco are now hopefully again toghether playing in heaven
