Lewis Hamilton has sold his supercar collection
That’s right— Lewis Hamilton has admitted to getting rid of his entire supercar collection. The 7-time world champion revealed the news in an interview recently, just before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. And we’re not talking about just any collection, but one made up of unique and extremely rare models that could have brought Hamilton around 15 million euros.
But why this decision? According to the driver, he wanted to part ways with the cars to focus on his new passion. Art is something that has recently captivated and fascinated him. Among his dreams is the idea of designing a car for Ferrari, inspired by the legendary F40. It’s well known that Hamilton deeply admires this model from the Prancing Horse brand, which he considers the most iconic in history, and the closest thing to the concept of artistic perfection.
In fact, ahead of his move to Ferrari, he expressed the desire to pose with a black 1987 Ferrari F40. We all know how that photo turned out: the only thing black in the shot was Hamilton himself. dressed in black, standing in front of a red Ferrari.

Incredible Cars in His Collection
His garages, spread between Monaco and the UK, were filled with dream machines for any car enthusiast. From the 1995 McLaren F1 that Hamilton purchased for £11 million, to two custom-made Ferrari LaFerraris designed specifically for him. Of course, there were also Mercedes models acquired during his time with the Silver Arrows: including a Mercedes-AMG Project One and a Pagani Zonda 760 LH (featuring a V12 engine sourced directly from Stuttgart). Altogether, the collection was estimated to be worth around €15 million, according to a valuation published a few years ago by Auto Trader magazine. Among current F1 drivers, Hamilton was one of the biggest car collectors now, formerly so.

Lewis Hamilton, a turn toward sustainability and art
As early as last year, Hamilton had revealed that, among all the cars he owned, the only one he still drove was the electric Mercedes EQC. He’s also often seen using electric scooters in the paddock and occasionally riding his Ducati Panigale or MV Agusta. For example when he arrived at the Monza Grand Prix.
Despite stepping away from supercars, Hamilton hasn’t cut ties with the automotive world (aside from Formula 1, of course). His latest ambition is to design a Ferrari inspired by the legendary F40, which he wants to call the “F44″—his racing number. The concept? A manual gearbox and clean, aggressive lines.
Will he succeed? Who knows—but please, Lewis, just don’t make it fully electric!
