Fun fact: the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, its inaugural edition, saw a total of 99 overtakes during the race. At the time, this set a record not seen since the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix. The circuit layout, with its long straights allowing DRS activation, makes this overtaking system particularly effective.
After the Las Vegas round, the 22nd of the 24 Grands Prix on the calendar, 58 points will still be up for grabs. The Qatar GP, being a sprint round, offers the chance to earn up to 33 points, while a victory in Abu Dhabi will award 25 points. The math is clear: if Verstappen leaves Las Vegas 58 points or more behind Norris, the championship will no longer be within his reach.
