Compared to the 1987 F40, this car was created for a single client and will not be available on the market. The original F40, at the time of its launch, was the first car to feature a body extensively made of carbon fiber, powered by a 2,900 cc V8. The same displacement as the engine in the new model, though here it is dressed in white. Compared to its predecessor, however, it loses two cylinders: it adopts the V6 from the 296 GTB, delivering a total power output of 830 horsepower. The f40 had an amount of 487 horsepower, but still one of the fastest car at that time

This one-off expected to weigh just under 1,500 kg, based on the weight of the 296 GTB, which is 1,470 kg. Inside, there is a notable and intriguing use of carbon fiber and Kevlar, ultralight and strong materials designed to keep the overall weight of the newly born vehicle under control.

The charging port is also present on this model. The total 830 horsepower engine is achieved through the combination of the 600-hp V6 engine and an electric generator with battery, which boosts the maximum power to the stated figure. The motor, as in racing cars, can be recharged during braking; the stored energy can then be used for fully electric driving or as KERS for explosive acceleration.

The SC40, unveiled on October 17, will make its debut in grand style. Ferrari has decided, with the owner’s approval, to display the car, designed by the historic designer Flavio Manzoni, inside the Maranello museum. The SC40 will be shown to the public until a date yet to be determined, alongside many other automotive masterpieces from the Prancing Horse.
