Ferrari 499P 2026, a new livery by Sean Bull Design
Ferrari has won the 2025 WEC title with a team that, this year, operated like a well-oiled machine in support of the stunning Ferrari 499P. Since its debut, the car has done only one thing: win. Three consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, each with different driver lineups. This has already turned it into an endurance 2026 icon. Winning a title in the world’s most competitive championship just three years after debuting is no luck… it’s pure professionalism.
Team Principal Antonello Coletta expressed great satisfaction with the 499P’s early performance and the natural way success came. Over three seasons, development has been gradual, refining solutions that were already well laid out in the first version.
One of the biggest defeats this year, however, was Porsche’s 963, which is leaving the WEC for good. We also analyzed the situation, looking into the financial gains that an endurance championship like the IMSA, won by the Stuttgart-based manufacturer this year, brings. Here the article
Ferrari 499P, since 2023, a showcase of cutting-edge technology
At the heart of the car is a hybrid powertrain based on the Ferrari F163CE. A 120° twin-turbo V6 with 2994 cc, derived from the 296 GT3. Power is regulated at 680 HP (500 kW). Unlike the 296, where the engine is mounted on a subframe, on the 499P it is directly attached to the carbon fiber monocoque developed with Dallara. That transforms it into a structural element of the car.

After a triumphant 2025, Ferrari is already looking ahead to 2026, aiming for an even stronger season. Improving on such a year will be tough, considering the first half. Wins in Qatar, 6 Hours of Imola, and 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Crowned by the third consecutive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, delighting Ferrari fans worldwide.
After the summer break, the Ferrari 499P faced a drop in competitiveness due to the BoP, fighting more for points than wins. At São Paulo and Fuji, the car scored valuable points but no podiums. While the best result late in the season was second place at the Lone Star Le Mans with car number 50. In the same race, AF Corse took the World Cup for private teams with car number 83. Despite the second-half slowdown, the early-season advantage allowed Ferrari to maintain its global lead, fending off comeback attempts from Cadillac and Porsche.
What if this were the 2026 livery in the WEC
Renowned Sean Bull design has presented his interpretation of what the 2026 livery might look like. And it’s enough to make you jump off the couch. In his vision, the car would be slightly darker than the current model, with much more yellow across the body. Especially on the rear fin, which would be entirely coated in bright canary yellow.

Despite these bold livery touches of Sean Bull Design, the main colors would remain the historic ones, preserving the 499P’s identity without major changes. And major changes aren’t planned: Ferrari aims to remain a key player in the WEC at least until 2029, unless championship regulations change.
