DTM Sachsenring Race 1 highlights

A rain-soaked DTM Sachsenring race that saw the winner and podium decided on the very last lap.

DTM Sachsenring Race 1 was heavily affected by intense rain, catching many drivers on the starting grid by surprise. Race control had to delay the start several times due to the weather before finally giving the green light to the GT3 field, eager to battle it out. Once the race got underway, the fight between Porsche and Lamborghini immediately took center stage.

Ayhancan Güven claimed victory in a dramatic, rain-soaked DTM Race 1 at the Sachsenring on August 23, 2025. Driving for Manthey EMA Porsche, Güven made the most of a chaotic finish, which included a late safety car and a decisive error by Thomas Preining. The former race leader collided with Jordan Pepper in the final stages, opening the door for Güven to snatch the win on the last lap. Pepper (Grasser Racing Lamborghini) secured second place, while Jules Gounon (Winward Mercedes) completed the podium in third.
