Some news for the Nürburgring GTW Challenge

All set for a race that’s always highly appreciated and well attended by drivers. Welcome to Germany at the Nürburgring GTW Challenge!

This weekend marks the penultimate round of the Nürburgring GTW Challenge —an extremely important event on a circuit eagerly awaited by both drivers and fans, who always pack the grandstands of the Eifel region. It’s a weekend packed with cars, with a total of 61 entries, and we’ll soon present the final entry list. The race will take place on the GP layout, measuring 5.1 km and featuring 17 corners.

A total of 10 manufacturers will battle it out, including Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW, Corvette, and Ford. We want to focus particularly on the latter, which for this round has opted for a completely redesigned and innovative livery.

The #65 car from Haupt Racing Team has opted for an almost entirely white livery for this round, leaving behind its traditional yellow. A fresh look that enhances the muscular lines of the American V8.

The drivers’ standings are extremely tight, with Lucas Auer, Matteo Cairoli, and Maro Engel (Mercedes-AMG Team) leading with 54 points, closely followed just one point behind by the WRT Audi trio of Van Der Linde, De Wilde, and Weerts.

Elsewhere, Verstappen.com Racing leads the Gold Cup standings with Chris Lulham, Henry King and Thierry Vermeulen. Century Motorsport tops the Silver class, while Kessel Racing continues to set the pace in the Bronze category.

Already this morning, several cars hit the track for the first installation laps, but the circuit didn’t offer the warmest welcome to the drivers. A rather cold and foggy atmosphere—typical of the Eifel region—is accompanying the cars on track.
