The 2025 motorsport season is almost over, and let’s be honest: everyone is already looking ahead to what’s coming next. Whether it’s F1, WEC, or the less spotlighted categories, the big question is always the same: who will we see in the 2026 Hypercar and LMGT3 entry list??
And so we dive into the first entry lists released across the championships.

While Formula 1 has essentially finalized all its driver pairings, the WEC grid was still up in the air… until today. The championship has now revealed what should be the full lineup across Hypercar and GTLM.

At the start of the season — which will see the beautiful Porsche 963 step away due to financial issues — we’ll have 14 manufacturers on the grid, with 17 Hypercars and 18 GT3 machines. A seriously strong entry list, especially with Genesis making its debut with two official Hypercars: the brand-new GMR-001.

Aston Martin has confirmed the Valkyrie #007 and #009, which finally had the chance to show their full potential in the latter part of the season. Toyota is also sticking with its new GR010 Hybrid, the evolution of the previous model that we already broke down in detail on launch day.

Cadillac continues its WEC commitment with the #12 and #38 V-Series R. In 2025 they finished right behind Ferrari and Porsche. Proof that the pace is definitely there.

As for BMW: after a tough season, 2026 simply has to be the comeback year. The M Hybrid V8 will receive major updates, which we already covered, with a clear mission: get back to the front. The Bavarian manufacturer will line up with the #15 and #20.

Of course, the three Ferrari 499Ps will be there too, tasked with defending the 2025 manufacturers’ title tooth and nail. Porsche, the reigning runner-up, has stepped aside… which only increases the pressure on the Prancing Horse. The confirmed entries remain the same: the #50, #51 and the #83AF Corse’s iconic yellow car, fresh off its 2025 Le Mans 24h victory.

And who else joins the party? The newly arrived Genesis, ready for its debut with the #17 and #19. A big entry that actually comes one year ahead of McLaren, which is set to join in 2027.

France defended in the WEC by Alpine and Peugeot and GT3LM entry List

Two French teams were missing from the list: Alpine and Peugeot. Both continued to develop their projects, and if the promised improvements hold true, they could be fighting for strong results all season long. Alpine will field the A424 #35 and #36, while Peugeot brings its 9X8 #93 and #94.

In LMGT3, we’ll essentially see the same teams and cars that competed in 2025. BMW sticks with the M4 GT3 Evo, Ferrari brings the 296, McLaren returns with the 720S, and so on.
Below you’ll find the full entry list, so you can take a look yourself while you rub your hands in anticipation of the season-opening race in Qatar, from March 26 to 29.

And what’s the real advantage the WEC has over the “new-look” F1 coming in 2026 with its fresh technical rules? Easy: WEC cars will stay fundamentally the same until 2029. Teams can introduce updates, sure, but nothing like the massive, budget-devouring overhauls seen in F1.

In simple terms: lower costs, less regulatory madness… and a show that kept millions of fans glued to their screens throughout 2025.

So 2026 has a clear mission: raise the bar even higher. Because we’re heading straight into what could truly become a golden era for endurance racing.
