An incredible BMW DTM monster on sale
Marco Wittmann’s “Green Machine”: The 2020 BMW M4 DTM Ready for a New Owner
There’s a piece of recent DTM history now available for collectors: the 2020 BMW M4 DTM Turbo, driven by Marco Wittmann, car number 11 for Team RMG, famously known among fans as the “Green Machine.” Clad in the iconic green Schaeffler livery, this car combines raw power, cutting-edge technology, and the pure thrill of racing.

This M4 is far from an ordinary track car: it is one of the last Class 1 BMW DTM prototypes, built with a monocoque specifically for the 2020 season. Under the hood beats a Type P48 4-cylinder turbo engine, delivering around 700 horsepower through a single turbocharger, managed by a Bosch Motronic MS 7.4 engine control unit, and paired with a 6-speed paddle-shift transaxle gearbox. Remarkably, this makes the car quicker than previous 8-cylinder DTM machines.

The car’s racing record speaks volumes: Marco Wittmann achieved three third-place podiums — at the second race in Lausitzring, Race 1 at the Nürburgring GP, and Sprint Race 1 at the same circuit — finishing 9th overall in the championship. Alongside teammate Timo Glock, Team RMG secured 4th place in the team standings.

But the “Green Machine” is more than just performance: its design tells the story of its racing DNA. Equipped with an active DRS system, the car is engineered to optimize downforce and braking stability at high speeds. Every detail — from Marco Wittmann’s original racing seat to the lightweight wheels and technical accessories — is designed to deliver a pure racing driving experience.

The M4 has covered less than one hour on track, limited to a single rollout at Hockenheim, and today it comes fully revised by BMW Motorsport and ready to race. With its recent racing history and technical pedigree, it represents a fascinating chapter of modern DTM, a car that is not just a collectible, but a true symbol of ingenuity, speed, and adrenaline.
