1983 Lancia 037 Evo 2: the rally Legend of Group B Up for Sale
We’re not talking about just any car here. This 1983 Rally Lancia 037 Evo 2 is a true collector’s gem, an icon of rallying and the legendary Group B era, now up for sale for just under €700,000. A hefty price, yes, but one that reflects the rarity and prestige of this machine: one of only 20 factory-built Evo 2 examples ever made.



This particular car boasts a spine-tingling history. First registered to FIAT Auto S.p.A. as “TO W67781,” it began life as a works car, competing in official rallies in the unmistakable VS Olio Fiat / Hertz livery. In 1984, it entered the Italian Rally Championship (CIR) with Fabrizio Tabaton behind the wheel. in 1986 it took part in the European Rally Championship with the Jolly Club team, driven by three-time Italian Champion Gianfranco Cunico.

Between 1984 and 1987, this 037 Evo 2 became the most successful of all Group B examples, claiming nine overall rally victories. It also won its division in the 1984 Italian Rally Championship and finished as overall runner-up that same season.
Over the years, this Lancia has been driven by some of the sport’s greatest names, including World Champions Björn Waldegård and Markku Alén, as well as Martin Rowe and Andy Dawson, in major historic rallies and demonstration events. Today, the car remains perfectly preserved in its original 1984 VS Olio Fiat / Hertz works livery, authenticated by period documentation.

Since 1985, this Lancia 037 Evo 2 has had only four owners, with the current custodian having cared for it over the past 19 years. A testament to its impeccable provenance.
